Today is the first of January, 2012. Happy New Year to all of you. Similar to all previous years this one comes with pros and cons as well.
This morning I said goodbye to Steve at Schiphol since he is going to his parents on Curacao for 2/3 months. Of course, that bloody damn well sucks. On the other hand it carries some positive things to. Let’s put it on a list, because boy do I love making lists.
Con:
- Steve is gone, 2/3 months no physical contact (painful)
- Being alone is terrible after spending 5 months together
- Waking up without him.. is a sad feeling
- Missing out on precious things we can share, trips, concerts and such
- I have to study and work in the mean time
- Steve is on a tropical island, I’m in good old cold Holland
- There is no chance for a quick visit with these 9000 km
- 5 hours of time difference
Pro:
- Skype allows us to talk almost every day
- Steve is back with his parents, he can take care of his injury
- It gives him the opportunity to get his life in order
- After 2/3 months he’ll be back in The Netherlands for a while
- Next week I can already search for a ticket to Curacao
- His parents like me very much and allow me to stay there for a month or two in the summer!
- We have our own vacation house again
- Steam allows us to play games together, we’re both very fond of games
- Our relationship is stable, we had our hard times but nothing we can’t handle.
- This free times gives me some room to save money, work and study
- I love that guy, haha, that’s a pretty big pro :)
In the end, I think there are more pros than cons.
